Okay, so he isn't in Antarctica...but Trapper loves winter & snow...SO HE WOULD FIT RIGHT IN if they allowed kids @ Pole. I mean if parents were crazy enough to try & bring kids to Pole...-109F is the coldest we saw our winter, this may be why kids are not able to visit.

BEFORE Katie & Trapper...there was just the two of us for four years. This was our second year together as husband & wife. Rob's third summer season & 1st winter. Jami's 1st summer & 1st winter. We would have gone back, but then came baby. Thank Goodness.:) We would still be there today...I know it!

Above- Before heading to Antarctica...in August 2000, the winterovers for 2001 met in Denver for Fire Academy Training. It was a loy of work, but very fun. This is one of my favorite photos. I don't really know who took it.

Margo & Rob in the New Station- 1st section interior construction...I think this is the Galley & Birthing Areas now?
Rob & Dave Benson- Tunnel Rats....not plumbers, but doing the job! It's not what you can do...it's what you are willing to do.;)

Behind Rob was our summer home...J-5 in Summer camp.

In a chapter of our lives...seven or so years ago, we

(Trapper's mom & dad) spent some time at the South Pole Station in Antarctica.

The reason this is posted on a site dedicated to helping our son obtain a specially trained Autism Assistance  Dog is a story in itself!
At the Bottom of the earth, 54 +/- ( I will find out for sure) people are spending a winter at the South Pole Station in Antarctica. Three of these "crazy" adventures wintered with Rob & I in 2001. They just cannot get enough.:)
Thank you especially to Steffen Richter for helping advocate for us & for your support & encouragement. One of Steffen's friends (South Pole 2008 family) also made a very generous donation to our cause. Thank you Josiah Heiser!

Also, from our summer/ winter @ the South Pole Station in 2000-2001 we have had some incredible support since learning our son had autism, to the accident, to helping us to help our son.
I have to be sure and send a HUGE thank you to my one of our dearest friends, Paul Daniels!
He has a very cool site/ movie that you must check out!

Also thank you Dr. Betty Carlisle & Margo Fernandez for your encouragement, support & medical advice!
I promise I am drowning in vitamin D & Calcium. I think of you Doc every time I take these horse pills.:)

You are all forever in hearts.

So, Even from the ends of the earth amazing people have reached out to help us raise money to get this amazing service dog for our son!

ABOVE is the South Pole we called home...it is really very different today. I believe there is nothing left under the dome.
